Pre-Shipment Certificates (BIETC/BESC)

Numerous African countries require that shippers submit a set of documents prior to exports. These documents include: Commercial invoices, bill of lading, and a pre-shipment certificate called BESC/BIETC.

The BIETC/BESC replaces the former BIC and is compulsory for Customs clearance. The BIETC/BESC number must appear on the bill of lading and on the manifest.
